A young family with 3 adorable children asked us to design and manufacture a set of 3 sliding doors to divide the day area with the sleeping quarters. Taking inspiration from the Japanese Shoji screens we decided to take this idea to a modern level using crisp blank birch plywood and a slatted door made from the same material. The rail is adjustable to your needs, sliding in all directions or only to move to a certain point. Fitted with soft close system to save the dear fingers.

Since 2017 STUDIO AYQIDO is working on interior concepts varying from home interiors to workspaces and creative environments. With a long history in Fashion and Photography it came as no surprise clients started asking us for our vision on their interiors. Both in material selection, colours and balance between light and shadow these disciplines have merged with interior design to elevate environments. CHASITSU (茶室, "tea room")

A teahouse for 1 person. Made up of acoustic fiber to mute sounds from outside. The design is a result of folding and layering, first in paper later in fabric. The layered entrance forces you to wade through layers of fabric as meandering through white crisp sheets hanging to dry in the wind. Upon entering the open space you are filled with silence.

MODULAR INTERIOR

A modular solution for a temporary art space. Made up of standard size plywood sheets, 4x4 beams and linen fabric, these set ups can be packed up and moved easily to accommodate new creative spaces. Market stalls, seating platforms, wayfinding and presentation/working tables all with simplistic materials forming a blank canvas for artworks.

UCO

An office, workplace and consultation space renovated sustainably residing in a listed heritage train depot shed. STUDIO AYQIDO was responsible for the acoustic solutions throughout the building. All materials used were either recycled materials or renewable materials such as PET felt and Métisse recycled cotton isolation.
