Taking inspiration from Martial Art garments for it’s timelessness and durability every design starts with a basic martial pattern, no frills, natural materials and simple forms. Garments have a limited use of industrialised materials like zippers and buttons. All handmade in our home studio in Utrecht The Netherlands.

In 2008 we Manuela Eringaard Koelink and Thijs Koelink set up STUDIO AYQIDO to fulfill our own need for timeless minimalist designs . A combination of Fashion, Photography and Film. All deriving from the same spirit and philosophy, creating harmony in every design we make, whether in minimal use of colour, form and/or execution.

All photography and cinematography is down to Thijs. From photographing architecture, landscapes to detailed product photography, playing with light finding the right balance in a frame he is the Art Director behind the brands graphic design. Together we are AYQIDO but with friends we become STUDIO AYQIDO collaborating on art projects in different disciplines in the field of art, architecture, fashion, photography and film productions.
